Sun Fire Contained After Burning 78 Acres in South Fork Reservation, Nevada
The Sun Fire, which began on August 26, 2026, has burned approximately 78 acres in the South Fork Reservation area of Nevada. According to the Elko County Fire Protection District, forward progress of the fire has been halted as of August 28, 2026. Firefighting efforts, including aerial water drops, have been instrumental in containing the blaze. While the fire is no longer spreading, residents in the area are advised to remain cautious as conditions can change rapidly.
