Nepal's Minister Yadav Promises Improved Cooking Gas Supply
Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supply, Gauri Kumari Yadav, has assured lawmakers that efforts are underway to address the imbalance between the demand and supply of cooking gas in Nepal. The Ministry is intensifying market monitoring to prevent shortages and advising consumers against hoarding gas cylinders. Currently, 58 LP gas industries operate with a storage capacity of 10,166 metric tons. Diplomatic efforts are being made to secure an increased quota of gas cylinders from India for three months. The Minister suggested recording buyers' information to ensure equitable distribution, particularly for vulnerable groups.
