Canal+ CEO Maxime Saada to Boycott Petition Signatories Over Bolloré Control Concerns
Maxime Saada, the Chair and CEO of Canal+, has announced that the company will no longer collaborate with individuals who signed a petition titled 'Time To Switch-Off Bolloré.' This petition, launched during the Cannes Film Festival, criticizes Vincent Bolloré's increasing influence over the French entertainment and media sectors. The petition, signed by 600 cinema professionals, including notable figures like Juliette Binoche, raises concerns about Bolloré's acquisition of a significant stake in UGC, a major French production and distribution company. The signatories fear that Bolloré's control could lead to a right-wing agenda being pushed through media channels. Saada, addressing the issue at a Canal+ event, expressed that the petition was unjust to Canal+ teams and stated that the company would cease working with those who signed it.
