Argentine Police Arrest Suspects in U.S. Athlete Burglaries, Await Extradition
Argentine police have arrested two Chilean citizens suspected of being part of a transnational gang responsible for burglaries at the homes of prominent athletes in the U.S. and Argentina. The arrests were made at a bus station in Buenos Aires, and the suspects are awaiting extradition to the U.S. The gang targeted homes of athletes such as NFL stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, and NBA player Bobby Portis. The FBI has noted that these organized crime groups used social media and technology to track athletes' movements and bypass security systems.
