This design, created by astronomer Frank Drake, uses pulsars' rotation periods as a universal time and location reference, avoiding reliance on any human language. The map's purpose is to guide any potential extraterrestrial finders to the Solar System by using pulsars as identifiable stellar clocks. The map also includes a fifteenth ray pointing to the Milky Way's center, providing a galactic reference point.
