Mega-Dinghy Fire in Channel Sparks Major Rescue Operation
A mega-dinghy carrying dozens of illegal migrants caught fire while attempting to cross the English Channel, leading to a significant air and sea rescue operation. The incident occurred early in the morning, with the engine of the dinghy reportedly catching fire, causing the vessel to sink and leaving 157 migrants in the water. British and French rescue vessels responded promptly, pulling the migrants to safety. Medics were dispatched to treat those affected by hypothermia, though no serious injuries were reported. The rescued individuals were taken to the port of Boulogne for further care.
