The town of Hartman, Colorado, has been declared abandoned by the state following the resignation of all its elected officials amid a severe water crisis. The town, located near the Kansas border, was left without a Board of Trustees or Town Clerk, making it impossible to hold elections or manage critical infrastructure. The water supply, lacking proper chlorine treatment, was deemed hazardous, prompting a state order to ensure clean water delivery.
