Red Flag Warnings Issued Across Central U.S. Amid Dry Weather
The National Weather Service has issued red flag warnings across a large portion of the central United States due to extremely dry weather conditions. These warnings extend from the Dakotas down to Texas and from Montana eastward to Minnesota. The dry conditions have led to a rise in soybean futures as concerns grow over the impact on agriculture. Winds in central Minnesota are expected to range from 10 to 15 mph, with gusts reaching up to 30 mph, while relative humidity is predicted to drop to around 20%. Such conditions increase the risk of fires, which could potentially burn out of control. The USDA reports that 12% of the U.S. soybean crop has been planted, which is double the amount from the previous week and significantly higher than the five-year average.
