This is due to a persistent heat dome dominating the region's weather pattern. However, relief is on the horizon as the heat dome is expected to weaken by Thursday, allowing a cool front to move south into Oklahoma. This front is anticipated to bring scattered showers and thunderstorms starting Wednesday night and continuing into Thursday. High temperatures on Thursday are forecasted to drop to the upper 80s to lower 90s (31-33°C), accompanied by increased cloud cover and rain. Despite this brief respite, the heat is expected to return over the weekend, with highs once again reaching the low 100s (37-39°C). Heat indices will remain in the triple digits during this period.
