Circle Foundation Supports UNDP and WFP to Advance Digital Payments for Humanitarian Aid
Circle Foundation, a philanthropic initiative backed by Circle Internet Group, Inc.'s 1% equity commitment, has announced two new initiatives to enhance digital payments for development and humanitarian action. These initiatives involve partnerships with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the World Food Programme (WFP). The core objective is to explore how digital payments and improved digital financial infrastructure can enable international organizations to move resources, deliver support more efficiently, and foster financial resilience and inclusion. Specifically, Circle Foundation's grant will allow UNDP to establish and operate the Digital Asset Innovation Pool, a mechanism designed for the responsible use of digital assets, including regulated payment stablecoins, in development programs to accelerate delivery.
