US Passport Renewal Process Streamlined with New Online System
The U.S. government has introduced a new online system for renewing passports, significantly simplifying the process. Eligible citizens can now renew their passports online in as little as 10 minutes, provided they meet certain criteria. The system requires applicants to have a passport issued within the last 15 years, be at least 25 years old, and reside in the U.S. The online renewal process involves filling out a form, uploading a digital passport photo, and paying with a credit or debit card. While the processing time remains four to six weeks, the online system eliminates the need for mailing physical documents, thus saving time.
