Cold Front Brings Relief and Storm Threats to Florida Amid Quiet Tropics
A cold front has moved into Florida, providing relief from extreme heat while also bringing the potential for strong storms across the state. Heat advisories remain in effect for 35 of Florida's 67 counties as temperatures continue to soar. Meanwhile, the Atlantic hurricane season is entering its busiest months, with the next named storm expected to be Cristobal. In the eastern Pacific, Hurricane Genevieve is weakening but continues to generate swells affecting Baja California Peninsula and Southern California. Saharan dust is also approaching Florida, which may impact air quality and visibility. The National Hurricane Center reports no tropical cyclone activity over the next seven days, although three tropical waves are being monitored in the Atlantic and Caribbean regions.
