Mitch Winehouse Ordered to Pay £1 Million in Legal Dispute Over Amy Winehouse's Clothes
Mitch Winehouse, father of the late singer Amy Winehouse, has been ordered by a High Court to pay nearly £1 million to two of Amy's friends, Naomi Parry and Catriona Gourlay. The court found that Winehouse's claim that the women had 'deliberately concealed' the sale of Amy's clothes at auctions was unfounded. The items, which included a dress worn by Amy in her last performance, were sold in the USA in 2021 and 2023. The court ruled that the items belonged to Parry and Gourlay, who had been given them by Amy. Winehouse's aggressive pursuit of the case was criticized by the judge, who ordered him to cover the women's legal costs.
