Nithya Raman Leads Incumbent Karen Bass in Los Angeles Mayoral Race Poll
City Councilmember Nithya Raman currently holds a double-digit lead over incumbent Mayor Karen Bass in the Los Angeles mayoral race, according to a UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies-LA Times poll. The poll, conducted between September 15-20, shows Raman with 39% support among likely Los Angeles voters, while Mayor Bass trails with 28%. A significant 33% of voters remain undecided ahead of the November 3 general election. Raman, who finished second to Bass in the June primary election, has a notable advantage among younger voters, with 66% of likely voters aged 18 to 29 favoring her, compared to just 4% for Bass. She also leads among voters aged 30 to 39, with 64% support against Bass's 12%. Among voters aged 50 to 64, Raman maintains a slight lead of 35% to 33%. The poll also indicated a high unfavorable rating for Mayor Bass at 63%, while Raman's favorability rating stands at 40% with a 39% unfavorable rating.
