Highland Road Park Observatory Hosts Astronomy Day Event for Public Engagement
The Highland Road Park Observatory in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is organizing a sky viewing event to celebrate International Astronomy Day. This event, which occurs twice annually, once in the spring and once in the fall, is scheduled for Saturday, April 25. The observatory will open its doors to the public from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., offering an opportunity for attendees to explore the night sky and learn more about astronomy. Amy Northrop, the Education Program Specialist for BREC HRPO, advises visitors to bring binoculars due to the potential long wait times for telescope access. The observatory is located at 13800 Highland Road, and those interested in future events can find more information on their website.
