U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer Attends Pentagon 9/11 Memorial Wreath-Laying Ceremony Ahead of 25th Anniversary
U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5), Co-Chair of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence’s (HPSCI) bipartisan 9/11 Review Task Force, attended a wreath-laying ceremony at the Pentagon Memorial on September 1, 2026. The ceremony honored the victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, in advance of their 25th anniversary. Congressman Gottheimer joined fellow Members of Congress to pay tribute to the 184 lives lost at the Pentagon and the nearly 3,000 Americans killed on 9/11. He emphasized the enduring memory of the innocent lives lost, including 750 from New Jersey, and reaffirmed the commitment to honor victims, grieving families, and first responders. Gottheimer also highlighted his ongoing efforts to pass legislation such as the bipartisan FIRE Cancer Act, which aims to provide federal investments for preventative tests for firefighters.
