Indiana Governor and FEMA Address Storm Damage in Northwest Indiana
Northwest Indiana continues to recover from a severe storm that struck on August 11, leaving hundreds of thousands without power. Indiana Governor Mike Braun, alongside FEMA Administrator Cameron Hamilton, visited the region to assess the damage and provide updates on recovery efforts. Gary, Indiana, has been a focal point of the response, with tens of thousands of residents initially affected by power outages, some of which lasted over two weeks. Emergency shelters, including the Hudson Campbell Sports and Fitness Center in Gary, have been providing aid to displaced residents. FEMA has established intake centers across Lake County to assist those impacted by the storm.
