Ukrop's Recalls 23,000 Pounds of Frozen Meals Due to Metal Contamination Risk
Ukrop's Homestyle Foods has issued a recall for approximately 22,880 pounds of its baked spaghetti and chicken cobbler products due to potential contamination with metal slivers. The recall was initiated after a consumer discovered a metal piece in one of the products. Further investigation revealed a small aluminum sliver in a baking pan used for production, prompting the company to notify its supplier to remove affected lots from distribution. The recalled products, produced between July 1 and July 29, 2026, were distributed across Virginia, North Carolina, and West Virginia, including Department of Defense commissaries and online sales. The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has advised consumers to dispose of the products or return them for a refund.
