US Embassy Delegation Visits Elite Garments Factory to Assess Export and Labor Standards
A high-level delegation from the US Embassy recently visited the Elite Garments manufacturing facility in Kamarjuri, Tongi. The visit was part of an industrial site assessment focusing on export manufacturing, labor standards, and operational transparency. The delegation included Paul Frost, Commercial Counsellor; Leena Khan, Labour Attaché; Carsten Fletcher, Defence Attaché; and representatives from the commercial, labor, and defense wings of the embassy. During the visit, the delegation met with the senior management of Elite Group and received an overview of the company's operations, export footprint, and compliance framework. Elite Garments has maintained a nearly 35-year manufacturing relationship with US-based PVH Corp, reflecting its alignment with US buyers and global compliance standards. The delegation was given access to various production areas, and discussions with factory management highlighted the company's commitment to transparency, worker welfare, and continuous improvement.
