Arrive Supports Underserved Oregon Homebuyers Following 2025 Statewide Expansion
Arrive, a nonprofit organization formerly known as the Portland Housing Center, has expanded its lending services statewide to assist underserved Oregonians in achieving homeownership. The program offers homebuying counseling and lending options, focusing on low-income and marginalized communities. Arrive was established in response to discriminatory lending practices exposed in a 1990 news series, and it aims to address the historical racial disparities in housing. The organization provides services such as credit review, savings strategies, and access to down payment assistance programs. Arrive's efforts are part of a broader initiative to combat the legacy of racial housing discrimination in Oregon, where Black households have significantly lower homeownership rates compared to white households.
