Roblox Agrees to $12 Million Settlement with Nevada to Enhance Youth Protections
Roblox, a popular gaming platform among children, has reached a $12 million settlement with the state of Nevada to enhance protections for young users. The agreement, announced by Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford, includes implementing facial age estimation technology to restrict chat interactions for younger users, creating kids accounts that block adult-rated content, and expanding parental oversight for users under 16. Roblox will also fund programs like the Boys & Girls Club and an online safety awareness campaign. This settlement is part of a broader effort to create a safer online environment for children and is seen as a landmark agreement in digital safety.
