Golf Course Owner Implements Measures to Protect Greens from Badgers During Drought
Susan Moore, owner of Clare Park Lake Golf Course in Suffolk, has taken significant steps to protect her golf course from damage caused by badgers. The animals, in search of food due to drought conditions, have been digging up the greens, leaving them in a state described as 'churned up and like a ploughed field.' To mitigate the damage, Moore has employed various deterrents, including rolling netting over the course after play, playing a radio overnight, and using flashing lights to keep the badgers at bay. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to maintain the course's condition amidst challenging environmental conditions.
