Bellatrix Aerospace Partners with TelePIX for Korean VLEO Demo Satellite Launch
Bellatrix Aerospace, an India-based company, is collaborating with Korean optical payload manufacturer TelePIX to develop a new Very Low Earth Orbit (VLEO) demonstration satellite, set to launch no earlier than 2028. The satellite will integrate advanced technologies from both companies, with Bellatrix providing the satellite bus, air-breathing electric propulsion (ABEP) system, and systems for power, thermal, and attitude control. TelePIX will contribute its high-resolution, wide-swath optical payload, known as Chouette, which is designed to capture images with a width more than twice that of comparable satellites. This partnership marks a significant step in Bellatrix's international expansion, following its recent establishment of a U.S. subsidiary and plans to open a satellite production facility in the U.S. The mission aims to validate future constellation-scale deployments in VLEO, potentially driven by larger and more capable satellite platforms.
