As Labor Day weekend approaches, travel scams are becoming increasingly sophisticated, posing a significant threat to travelers' finances and vacation plans. Scammers are creating fake customer service websites for airlines, cruise lines, and other travel companies, manipulating search engine results to place these fraudulent sites at the top. One instance involved a viewer, Cher, who, after her flight was canceled, called a number she found online believing it was American Airlines, only to be connected with a scammer. These scammers often demand immediate payment, sometimes promising a return of a larger sum, as in Cher's case where she was asked to pay $1,010 with a promise of receiving $2,020 and a one-way ticket.
