Airbnb Co-Founder Brian Chesky Establishes Voyager Scholarship for Public Service
Brian Chesky, Co-Founder and CEO of Airbnb, in collaboration with the Obamas, has established the Obama-Chesky Voyager Scholarship for Public Service. This scholarship aims to foster understanding, empathy, and cooperation by providing opportunities for exposure to new places and experiences, thereby equipping the next generation for meaningful change. The program is a two-year leadership development initiative offering up to $50,000 in financial aid during a college student's junior and senior years. It also includes access to a network of public service professionals, an immersive, self-designed work-travel experience, and a $2,000 annual Airbnb travel credit for 10 years post-graduation. The University of San Francisco (USF) recently announced that Sydney Menante, a Communication Studies major and USF Honors College student, has been awarded this scholarship. Menante is currently interning in the office of U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada through a fellowship program.
