Baltimore Launches Design Competition to Transform Traffic Corridors
The City of Baltimore has initiated an international public art and design competition named 'Design Baltimore: Gateways'. This competition aims to transform three of the city's primary vehicular gateways—Russell Street, Conway Street, and President Street—into iconic arrival experiences that reflect Baltimore's identity, history, and culture. The Baltimore Development Corp. is overseeing the competition, which offers a total of $450,000 in prize money. The competition is open to artists, architects, engineers, and creatives worldwide, with a submission deadline set for August 23. The initiative seeks to enhance the city's image and create a stronger sense of pride among residents.
