Baltimore's Inner Harbor Faces Uncertain Future Without Harborplace
A Baltimore resident has sparked debate by using AI to visualize the Inner Harbor without the iconic Harborplace pavilions, which are slated for demolition. The image, shared on social media, depicts a vast open space where the pavilions currently stand, raising concerns about the future of this key waterfront area. The current owner, MCB Real Estate, plans to replace the pavilions with a $900 million development, but financing has yet to be secured. The situation has drawn comparisons to past development failures in Baltimore, such as the Mechanic Theatre site, which remains undeveloped.
