OSHA Extends Public Comment Period for Chemical Safety Standards Review
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has announced an extension of the public comment period for nine chemical safety standards. This decision, detailed in notices released on Tuesday and set to be published in the Federal Register, allows for an additional 30 days of public input. The chemicals under review include 1,3-Butadiene, Asbestos, Formaldehyde, Cadmium, Ethylene Oxide, 13 Carcinogens, Acrylonitrile, Inorganic Arsenic, and 1,2-dibromo-3-chloropropane. OSHA's extension aims to provide the public with more time to consider recommendations from the Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health, which was not fully appointed when the safety measures were initially proposed last year.
