Thousands Celebrate at First Jamaica Rising Day Parade in Brooklyn
Brooklyn hosted its first-ever Jamaica Rising Day Parade, drawing thousands of attendees to celebrate Jamaican culture and heritage. The parade, which took place in the Flatbush neighborhood, marked Jamaica's 64th year of independence from British rule. The event featured vibrant displays of reggae, dancehall, soca, and R&B music, with DJ Danglez from Federation Sound as the star DJ. The parade route stretched from Church and Ocean avenues to Lincoln Road near Empire Boulevard, showcasing a rich tapestry of Jamaican cultural expressions and community pride.
