India's Quality Control Orders Boost Manufacturing and Export in Toy Sector
India's Consumer Affairs Secretary Nidhi Khare announced that the country's Quality Control Orders (QCOs) have expanded to cover 723 products, transforming the toy sector from a net importer to a net exporter. The QCOs aim to enhance product quality and safety, positioning India as a leader in global supply chains. The policy has sparked debate, with some trading partners viewing it as a non-tariff barrier. However, Khare argues that the QCOs promote quality-conscious manufacturing and fair trade practices.
