Hesperia and Victorville Host Free Cleanup and Compost Events for Residents
Residents of Hesperia and Victorville, California, are invited to participate in community events aimed at environmental sustainability and waste management. Scheduled for August 1, these events include a Neighborhood Beautification Day, Tire Amnesty, and a Compost Giveaway. Hesperia residents can dispose of unwanted items, recycle up to nine tires per household, and collect up to 60 gallons of free compost for home use. The compost giveaway is self-service, requiring participants to bring their own containers and tools. Despite a recent fire at the Advance Disposal facility, the events will proceed as planned. In Victorville, a Shred-Fest will allow residents to securely dispose of personal documents, with a limit of four 20-pound bags or boxes per person. The event also features a compost giveaway, with up to 50 gallons available per participant. These initiatives are part of ongoing efforts to promote recycling and environmental responsibility in the community.
