US-Israel Partnership 2.0: A Shift Towards Technological Collaboration
The United States and Israel are exploring a new phase in their partnership, focusing on technological collaboration rather than traditional military aid. This initiative, referred to as US-Israel Partnership 2.0, aims to establish a technological alliance that will enhance both countries' capabilities in areas such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and semiconductor fabrication. Historically, the US has provided Israel with significant military and economic assistance, primarily to ensure Israel's security and maintain its Qualitative Military Edge (QME). However, with Israel's growing regional power and technological prowess, there is a push to redefine the relationship to focus on mutual technological advancements. This shift is seen as a strategic move to counter China's growing influence in technology and to ensure both nations' strategic independence.
