According to The Guardian, the newspaper allegedly followed and covertly photographed the individual, subsequently publishing over a dozen images and claiming she was living a 'secret new life.' The article, penned by Joe Hutchison and published on August 6, asserted that it had located the 'reclusive female music superstar' and presented the photos as the first public images of White in 17 years. The report stated that when approached, the woman laughed and denied being Meg White, but the newspaper reportedly concluded otherwise after she thanked the reporter for praising The White Stripes' music.
