Bell Police Officer Charged with Illegally Monitoring Ex-Girlfriend
A Bell police officer, James Ixcoy, has been charged with improper use of computer data and unlawful use of a tracking device. According to a criminal complaint, Ixcoy placed a tracking device on his ex-girlfriend's car and accessed a California DMV database to obtain information about a man she dated. The charges highlight concerns about the misuse of law enforcement tools for personal purposes. Ixcoy, who has been placed on administrative leave, faces up to three years and six months in prison if convicted. His arraignment is scheduled for October.
