Salt Lake City Unveils Final Vision for Fleet Block Open Space to Enhance Community Engagement
Salt Lake City has revealed its final plans for the Fleet Block open space, a 2.4-acre area in the Granary District. The design includes a small amphitheater, open lawn spaces, gardens, and play areas, all aimed at creating a community-focused environment. The space will also feature significant public artwork reflecting the site's social justice history. The project, which has been in planning since the city's vehicle fleet moved in 2009, aims to provide a shaded, natural green destination for the growing neighborhood. The city has allocated $6 million from a general obligation bond and received an additional $2 million from the Bezos Earth Fund for the project.
