Jessica Morgan Appointed Director of Tate, Leaving Dia Art Foundation After a Decade
Jessica Morgan has been appointed as the new director of the Tate museum network, effective January 1, 2027. Morgan, who has led the Dia Art Foundation for over a decade, will oversee Tate's major institutions, including Tate Modern and Tate Britain. Her appointment follows the departure of Maria Balshaw and comes during a challenging period for Tate, which has faced financial losses and staff cuts. Morgan's previous tenure at Tate as a curator was marked by acclaimed exhibitions, including 'The World Goes Pop.' At Dia, she expanded the foundation's focus to include a diverse range of artists, enhancing its global art history emphasis.
