UNNATI Scheme Aims to Boost Industrial Development in India's North-East
The Uttar Poorva Transformative Industrialization Scheme (UNNATI) 2024 has been introduced to enhance industrial development in India's North-Eastern Region. This scheme, implemented by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), aims to address the region's untapped industrial potential due to inadequate infrastructure and high logistics costs. With a total outlay of ₹10,037 crore, UNNATI seeks to catalyze industrial investment, generate employment, and promote sustainable economic development over a 10-year period. The scheme includes fiscal incentives like the Manufacturing & Services Linked Incentive (MSLI) and Capital Interest Subvention to support industrial units. It also differentiates incentives based on the industrial advancement of districts, encouraging investment in underdeveloped areas.
