U.S. Space Force Awards $438 Million Contract to Viasat and Intelsat General for Satellite Program
The U.S. Space Force's Space Systems Command has awarded a contract worth nearly $438 million to Viasat and Intelsat General, the U.S. division of Luxembourg’s SES, for the development of satellites under the Protected Tactical Satellite-Global (PTS-G) program. This contract, announced by the Pentagon, involves the production of the PTS-G bus and payload, which is set to begin in the current fiscal year. Additionally, the contract includes the procurement of parts necessary for PTS-G ground integration. Viasat has committed to demonstrating its dual-band X/Ka-band geostationary capabilities as part of this initiative.
