'The Green Eyes' Film Premieres at Locarno, Highlights Refugee Child's Perspective
The Locarno Film Festival opened with 'The Green Eyes,' a film inspired by resignation syndrome, which affects refugee children. Directed by Fanny Liatard and Jérémy Trouilh, the film tells the story of Chaya, an 11-year-old girl whose family faces deportation. Her brother falls into a deep sleep due to the syndrome, and Chaya embarks on a journey to wake him. The film aims to revive empathy for refugees by presenting their struggles through a child's eyes. It features a cast including Douae Butarbuch M’Zaouki and Sayyid El Alami.
