Bay Area Surfer Sandro Britz Dies in Ocean Beach Incident Amid Large Waves
Sandro Ricardo Britz, a 55-year-old surfer from San Francisco, tragically died while surfing at Ocean Beach. The incident occurred during a period of unseasonably large waves. Britz was found in distress by several on and off-duty lifeguards who attempted to rescue him. Despite their efforts, including CPR and life-saving measures, Britz was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The National Park Service has stated that the incident is under investigation. Britz is remembered fondly by friends and the local surfing community, who noted his passion for surfing.
