Mega-study Evaluates Effectiveness of Gratitude Interventions Across Cultures
A comprehensive study involving over 10,000 participants across 34 countries has evaluated the effectiveness of various gratitude interventions. The research, published in PNAS, found that sending a message of gratitude had the most significant positive impact on mood and social bonds. Other interventions, such as listing things one is grateful for, were less effective. The study highlights the cultural variations in the impact of gratitude practices, with countries like Mexico showing greater benefits compared to others like Norway. The research aims to understand how gratitude can enhance well-being and social connections.
