Young Oakland Entrepreneur Receives Support for Plumbing Business
Dana Gaines, a 25-year-old from Oakland, was surprised with a work van and tools to support his new plumbing business. The gift was presented by the OK Program, a mentoring initiative for young Black males. Gaines, who joined the program in high school, has faced significant challenges, including a gunshot injury that affected his ability to play sports. Despite these obstacles, he has pursued entrepreneurship and aims to be a positive role model in his community. The OK Program's support highlights the importance of mentorship and community investment in empowering young entrepreneurs.
