Connecticut Attorney General Secures New Agreement for Rocky Hill Apartment Complex Tenants Amid Ongoing Issues
Connecticut Attorney General William Tong has announced a new agreement with JRK Property Holdings, the owners of a Rocky Hill apartment complex, following persistent tenant issues. The complex, formerly known as 'The Concierge' and now 'The Beacon,' has been plagued by problems including leaks, sewer back-ups, and elevator malfunctions. This new settlement comes after an initial agreement in February, which provided $5.1 million for tenants in the wake of frozen and burst pipes that displaced hundreds. The latest agreement mandates routine independent inspections of the property, with an inspector chosen by the Attorney General's office working alongside the town and Concierge management. It also requires a long-term remediation plan for plumbing, heating, and other necessary upgrades. Additionally, JRK Property Holdings must establish a dedicated website for residents and hold quarterly meetings with town officials to improve communication and address ongoing concerns.
