Green Bay First Responders Stage Mock Crash to Highlight Dangers of Impaired Driving
Green Bay Police, Green Bay Metro Fire, and Casa ALBA Melanie collaborated to stage a mock crash demonstration on Stuart Street in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The event aimed to visually educate the public about the severe consequences of impaired driving. During the demonstration, community members observed first responders utilizing rescue tools to cut open a vehicle, simulating the extraction of victims from a crash scene. Police officers also conducted a sobriety investigation as part of the realistic portrayal. According to Green Bay Metro Fire Captain Nick Craig, vehicle crashes are the second leading cause of traumatic injuries that first responders address, and these incidents place emergency personnel in harm's way due to ongoing traffic.
