The Carter Center Launches Program to Empower Young Leaders Amid American Divide
The Carter Center has initiated the Emerging Leaders for Community Change (ELCC) program, aimed at empowering young people to address societal divisions and foster community change. Launched in September 2025, the program supports individuals aged 18-30 from diverse backgrounds in metro Atlanta. Participants engage in workshops and discussions to develop conflict-resolution skills and implement community projects. The program encourages young leaders to focus on commonalities rather than differences, promoting positive action and collaboration. The inaugural cohort has completed its activities, and recruitment for the next group is underway, with plans to expand the initiative nationally.
