Libya and Qatar Discuss Quadruple Mechanism to Combat Illegal Migration
Libya's Government of National Unity (GNU) Deputy Defence Minister Abdulsalam al-Zoubi met with Qatar's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Hulayfi, to discuss the development of a quadruple mechanism aimed at combating illegal migration. This mechanism also includes Italy and Turkey, signifying a multilateral approach to a complex regional issue. The meeting, held at the Ministry of Defence building in Tripoli, focused on strengthening cooperation between Libya and Qatar and enhancing security and stability in Libya. A delegation accompanying the Qatari minister also participated, and they visited the joint operations center responsible for implementing the mechanism. The initiative seeks to improve coordination among the four countries in addressing irregular migration and supporting voluntary return programs.
