South Dakota State Fair to Feature Beef as Central Theme in 2026
The 2026 South Dakota State Fair, scheduled from September 2-7 in Huron, S.D., will prominently feature beef as its central theme. This initiative is a collaborative effort between the South Dakota Beef Industry Council (SDBIC) and South Dakota CattleWomen (SDCW) to highlight the versatility, nutritional value, and enjoyment of beef. Fairgoers can anticipate various 'BEEF Pop-Up Events' throughout the week, offering opportunities to win beef-related merchandise, free beef certificates, and recipes. These events will also provide educational insights into beef nutrition and offer tips for preparing beef at home. A special highlight will be live beef cooking demonstrations on Friday, September 4, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in Horizons Hall, where SDCW members will showcase easy-to-prepare beef recipes and ideas for family meals.
