Houston Public Media Appoints Laurie Ramirez as Station Manager to Drive Strategic Growth
Houston Public Media has announced the appointment of Laurie Ramirez as the new station manager, effective immediately. Ramirez, a seasoned media executive with over 23 years of experience at the organization, will oversee operations for KUHT TV 8 (PBS), KUHF News 88.7 (NPR), and the organization's digital platforms. Her previous roles included interim station manager and executive director of content. Ramirez has been instrumental in developing Houston Public Media's five-year strategic plan, which aims for growth through 2030. She has led significant initiatives such as transitioning talk shows to multi-platform productions and launching the organization's first daily YouTube unit. Her leadership has been pivotal in modernizing the production infrastructure with AI-driven, video-focused studios.
