Piatigorsky Foundation Offers Free Classical Concerts to Underserved U.S. Communities
The Piatigorsky Foundation, founded by cellist Evan Drachman, is dedicated to enriching community life by providing free classical music concerts to underserved areas across the United States. For the past 36 years, the foundation has facilitated performances by professional musicians in various settings, including schools, senior living centers, churches, and hospitals. These concerts aim to reach over 10,000 people annually, focusing on students and seniors, particularly in rural regions. Recently, the foundation partnered with Boise State Public Radio to host two free concerts in Idaho. The first concert took place on April 21 at the 'Creative Space' in Garden City, and the second was scheduled for April 22 at the Brandt Center in Nampa.
