NDLEA Dismantles International Cocaine Cartel, Arrests Social Media Influencer in Lagos
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has successfully dismantled an international cocaine trafficking cartel that utilized Nigeria as a transit hub for distributing illicit drugs to the United Kingdom, other parts of Europe, and Asia. The operation led to the arrest of Afolabi Michael, also known as 'KC Luxury,' a self-styled luxury goods dealer and social media influencer, who is identified as the Nigerian arrowhead of the syndicate. Michael was apprehended at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos while attempting to flee the country on a flight to Paris. The NDLEA seized 184.50 kilograms of cocaine, marking it as the largest cocaine seizure made through a courier company in Nigeria. Investigations revealed that the cartel used false identities for shipments and relied on financial facilitators to move billions of naira.
